Undertaking major renovations to your home is something many of us do once and vow "never again". It can be;
- stressful - trying to imagine how the finished product will look and function,
- frustrating - particularly finalizing Council Approvals for the work,
- worrying - usually dominated by the financial strains throughout the process,
- exhausting - trying to keep track of progress and preparing for the moves at the end of the project,
- satisfying - being part of making dozens of small and large decisions as the renovations proceed, and
- exhilarating - at the end when everything has turned out just as we wanted.
Without doubt the process can only come to the stunning success Jan and I had via real teamwork. Us understanding what we wanted, our house designer Amanda putting those wants into practical designs and plans and our builder Danny organizing the best team of tradesmen (Particularly foreman Peter) who cared about the details and quality of the finished job under Danny's guidance.
Would we do it again - I hope not but if we did hopefully it would be with Danny Carr as our builder.

"I have worked with Danny Carr of DM Carr Constructions Pty Ltd for over 10 years. DM Carr Constructions Pty Ltd has built the following projects over this period:
- Alterations and additions to residence at Golf Links Rd, Killara, project cost: $ 550,000.00.
- Alterations and additions to residence at Bon Accord Avenue, Bondi Junction; project cost: $320,000.00.
- Alterations and additions to residence at 58 Imperial Avenue, Bondi; project cost: $585,000.00.
- Alterations and additions to existing 2 storey apartments at 5 Hunter Road, Mosman; project cost: $ 630,000.00.

"I have had the pleasure of working with D.M. Carr Constructions on many residential projects, over the past 20 years, ranging from new $2.5m contemporary homes to small alterations and additions, including first floor additions to my own residence, on Sydney’s lower north shore.
I have found D.M. Carr Constructions to be very professional, attentive and co-operative during all phases of the project, from preliminary ‘order of cost’ provided from concept drawings, through to practical completion and defect rectification. I have found that the company Director, Danny Carr, is personally involved in all his projects, and acts as the first point of contact, between the Architect and Builder, which is always a comfort when and if issues require immediate resolution.
D.M. Carr Constructions have many comforting and outstanding strengths, which include competent on-site foremen, good support with tradesman and sub-contractors and reliable and professional assistance from the Director to foresee issues and assist in their resolution. Danny Carr provides the same personal commitment no matter what scale the project, and the company has proven to be, not only very competitive in tendering situations, but fair and reasonable with variations and contract adjustments during the construction phase.
The works undertaken on my own home, were a typical example of good communication, co-operation and building methodology between Builder and Client, where works were undertaken with the minimum of fuss, whilst the Principal was still occupying the dwelling. Hence, the project came in under the Contractual figure and well within the project program.
